Just trying to hook it up so it works dosesnt matter how

By side pillar do you mean the one against the windshield or the one between the doors?

Not sure what it came out of.. JimmyFloyd any idea :?:

But Mine has 2 pinks a gray and a green... :?

I'm going to guess that we are going to have to know what it came out of...

When I ran wires for my underbodies I ran the wires up that pillar to my switch next to the fog lights. and there was no other wires behind that pillar....

Hmm..my mirror I've been searching for the wiring schematic for has the SAME pink/pink-black you are talking about, so, which two wires go to which two wires in the pillar? With that info I am good to go.

PMed you this, but here is what I got from the cadillac forum when I asked.

This should do it:
Pin1 (closest to mounting stem) - 12Vdc ignition
Pin2 - ground
Pin3 - 12Vdc when in reverse ( clears mirror if it'* dimming) you don't really need to connect this one.
Pin4 - output to outside mirror dimming
Pin5 - output to outside mirror dimming

Pins 4&5 are used for outside dimming mirrors if equiped. 12v to pins 4&5 (furthest from mounting stem) will destroy the mirror. You only need pins 1 & 2 for most retrofits.

That might be because you got a mirror out of another car. and the wires are differ... Do you know what kind of car yours came out of?

Not quite sure, Geoff sold it to me, out of a cadillac. What colors are your first two wires closest to the middle mount?

And does that mean the pins 1 & 2 being the necessary hookup apply to me also, I certainly don't want to be wiring in the wrong wires and ruin my new condition mirror, this is far too much of a beauty to ruin.... Can someone clarify which wires I need to hook up for sure?
