My 2003se does not have onstar. I dont believe it has bose? Will I be able to get just a regular wiring harness to put in my HU? I'm asking because I kinda remember reading about some obstacles. Is there any write ups for power wire through the fire wall on 2000+? I have to wire my HU directly to the battery, for the 3rd F!ckIN time. How about door trim removal? Thanks in advance

you will need to buy a wireharness...there is a website to get it but i cant remember... use the search

the battery is under the rear seat...no firewall to go through for a power wire

I dont believe that you need to wire the HU to the batt with the harness

I tried wiring my deck through the standard radio wire in my first car, calling BS on alpine but it blows the radio fuse if turned up. Its a cda 8915 with the vdrive amp in it.

Everytime I use the search on this site I go to one of the results and when I press back to go to the other results it says page expired so i have to start over.

good luck finding that battery under the hood.......

and u have an alpine...ya they recommend a driect shot to the battery

when you use the search and get the page expired hit refresh and after that hit yes when the window pops up....

when you have the hood open, and your looking in, there is a fuse box on your left, there is a red plastic cover over a wire terminal, that is used for jumpstarting.

On my 2000 SE i just ran direct power and ground to my headunit, because i was going to be amplifying my door speakers, so i did ALL my stereo wiring from scratch, i didnt use a strand of wire that is in the car.

I have found that if you go the next search page results first, then go back to the first page results, you don't get that error anymore.

I ran all new wires in my 98 thanks to the in depth instructions on this site. Still looking for door removal and dash trim removal for the 2000+ so I can do this to my new bonnie.

Thanks for the tip on jump starting. Hopefully will never need to.

To start first remove the door handle Bezel with a flat screwdriver.


Next guide the inside door handle through the opening in the door handle bezel.


Now its time for the door trim, use a fork type tool to pry out the trim retainers.


Becarful not to pry against the trim as it will punture. There are seven retainers.

Pull on the armrest hard to unlock the pull cup retainers. Rock the door trim panel (1) upwards, starting at the rear, while lifting upwards to remove. Disconnect the door trim panel wiring harness.

Now is a good time to remove the armrest pull cup retainers from the inside of the door trim panel.
