Angel Eye LED Repairs... HELP
God damn lights..... arg!!!
I had an H3 & a 9006 go on my 91 in the past week, and now one of my LED "halo"s on my Angel Eyes on my 97 isn't working.... arg!!! Any idea how-to repair it? If it can be repaired... anyone? |
LEDs rarely go out by themselves. HOWEVER it is possible that it has a bad resistor. Usually, its a 100 ohm value, and *sometimes* one for each LED, or one for a group of them. OR you have the wires reversed...LED's WONT light if wired backwards.
|
yah they wont work wired backwards because they are a light emitting diode, but i would lean more twards the resistor or led since i dont think it would be reversed since they worked before.
|
If you find a way to fix/swap out those LED's lemme know  If it doesn't involve dremeling, etc..... I'd like white LEDs...
I think seth still has one out as well, so i'm sure he'll be intereseted... |
Well looks like I won't be taking them apart.....
I went to the place I ordered them from..... I purchased them on ... drum roll please.... Nov 17th 2003. So it's 1 week shy of the warranty.... sweet. :D They just ordered me a new set.... they'll be in mid next week, then I just have to swap em. I'll take a closer look at the AEs when I take them out to see exactly how they work, and how one would fix em.... it shouldn't be too hard... except if the stuff is "incased" in plastic or glass. |
the AE part is seperate from the housing. there is a rubber grommet around the lights that goes into the housing
