Angel Eye LED Repairs... HELP

God damn lights..... arg!!!

I had an H3 & a 9006 go on my 91 in the past week, and now one of my LED "halo"s on my Angel Eyes on my 97 isn't working.... arg!!!

Any idea how-to repair it? If it can be repaired... anyone?

LEDs rarely go out by themselves. HOWEVER it is possible that it has a bad resistor. Usually, its a 100 ohm value, and *sometimes* one for each LED, or one for a group of them. OR you have the wires reversed...LED's WONT light if wired backwards.

yah they wont work wired backwards because they are a light emitting diode, but i would lean more twards the resistor or led since i dont think it would be reversed since they worked before.

If you find a way to fix/swap out those LED's lemme know  If it doesn't involve dremeling, etc..... I'd like white LEDs...

I think seth still has one out as well, so i'm sure he'll be intereseted...

Well looks like I won't be taking them apart.....

I went to the place I ordered them from..... I purchased them on ... drum roll please.... Nov 17th 2003. So it's 1 week shy of the warranty.... sweet. :D

They just ordered me a new set.... they'll be in mid next week, then I just have to swap em.

I'll take a closer look at the AEs when I take them out to see exactly how they work, and how one would fix em.... it shouldn't be too hard... except if the stuff is "incased" in plastic or glass.

the AE part is seperate from the housing. there is a rubber grommet around the lights that goes into the housing
