amp power - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

What are you talking about? I can't understand your first sentence...

You don't want to use the Bose amp, you should buy another amp.

Just did what?
Also what model car is this? Presuming from your SN it'* a 99 SSEi, you should add that to your signature.
I don't think the Bose amp(is it even Bose? or Delco? never looked at it) has enough RMS power to run a sub along with the speakers. Along with that thought there are probably a host of other issues to go along with that.
I would just buy a quality mono or dual channel amp.

You cant run the stock Bose amp on yoru sub/*. The cars you see that come with a stock sub usually have a stock amp that is designed to handle the Ohm load and power demands.

The Bose system was designed to give the stock speakers a little more power, not run a sub.

Keep an eye out for a deal on Ebay for a mono block amp that will match the Ohm load you plan on giving it with your set up.
