JL: thank you for confirming what i said. it all begins and ends with the sauce.

hi, couple wuestions.
1. i really like the stock look and i dont really want to lose door chimes, steering wheel controls, i just want a bit more sound. my rear 6x9s were blown so i replaced them today (monsoon system) i got some kickers off craigslist. they work but are not even half as loud as the front door speakers, the rear doors and 6x9s together are much quieter. is this normal or could something be messed up in my stock amp?

2. what the hell is "sauce"?

iluvmybonnie 09-19-2008 11:15 AM

sauce = source

4chan ftw

so in this instance the source is your headunit. it goes from cd ---> digital audio converter(DAC)((in hu) --> eq --->amps, in a very simplified way of describing it. you need a good quality headunit as the speakers can only produce what they are given. the stock deck is pitiful compared to any aftermarket deck. changing the deck alone will yield much better sq to the point you'll hear things in songs you've never head before little nuances so to speak. also you'll want to find one that will give you the ability to go active in the feature so your not rebuying later on down the road.

this looks stockish: Kenwood DPX302 CD Players,MP3 CD Player
there are plenty others that look close to stock and arn't all guady. and there is a company that makes factory looks a likes but with mp3/sat capabilities. i forget their name i'm sure you can find them on google.

i'd get an avn 6620 personally...

oh and your rears are quietey like is because the kickers are less sensitive and need moar power to really shine. buy a $50 amp and you'll be all set.

oh and anything from nakamichi or denon will look stock as well.
these are both good units:

so i got a 4 channel amp to run the rear 6x9s, so if i hook line out converters to the factory hookups that used to connect to the 6x9s, will it work right? since the stock 6x9s were a 2ohm load? i just wanna use the 4ch amp to run the 6x9s and maybe a 10 in a box.

iluvmybonnie 09-22-2008 07:56 AM

yes it 'will work' but you want to tap from before the amp to get the cleanest signal possible.
why amp the stock 6x9s?
you should be fine as long as you know what you are doing but again i wouldn't amp the stock 6x9s.
and remember to use those XOs

g'luck

i have kicker 6x9s not stock ones.... and my rear channel is blown on the amp i think, no matter what speakers i plug into the stock amp it just buzzes and sounds distorted.

iluvmybonnie 09-23-2008 08:53 AM

then it's probably blown. had the same thing happen to me once.try the other ones.
