Ahhh, alright, awesome. So I can just replace the amp, replace the speakers, and use all the stock wiring?

Yes, this should be fine. Because you have the GXP, you'll have wiring to each speaker location from the trunk (8 pair in total).

Haha, yeah, seems that way! Just like phone tag. I liked the setup I had in my Prelude... might go with Boston Acoustic again.

That's about the only thing I have with my GXP, lol stripper model. Only options I have are the HUD and XM Radio. No sunroof, no heated seats, no cd changer, no nothing. :(

using the stock headunit is going to serverly limit you. it all starts with the sauce. and when your sauce is weak the moar componenets you add will help little. upgrade the sauce 1st. it's the most important part of your system. bar none.

It can be done but don't expect to be happy with it. I already did it myself.

First I added JL Audio tweeters and Focal Mids to the front first and left the rears intact, all using the Monsoon amp. I had no choice but to use the built in crossovers in the Monsoon and connect to the correct wires in the door. Monsoon wasn't giving me much volume so I took out the Monsoon and added a nice Kicker amp instead (60x4). I used a line level converter and spent a ridiculous amount of time in the trunk identifying, cutting, and splicing those tiny damn little input wires and hooking the factory speaker wires to the Kicker. When all was said and done, the sound was there but it was VERY disappointing compared to previous systems. I pulled out the factory unit and replaced it (with a little modification) and it made a world of difference. I added the interface for the steering wheel controls.

I left the rear door speakers in for now, running at very low volume from the Kicker and also removed the rear deck speakers. I installed a Fi Audio Q15 (ported @ 32 Hz) and an 1800 W amp. :)

Next I have added satellite radio using the supplied Sirius antenna and am working on hooking it into that "special" looking XM sharkfin on the roof. I tested it and got a good signal so I'll test and finish that up next week. I just couldn't leave it there doing nothing I guess.
