The remote works fine from all the positions that I would think of adjusting anything while steering. The volume buttons are on the rear of the remote. I love this thing!

So that would mean the normal steering wheel control switches can be used for other things from kill light, activate strobes, arm
whatever your heart desires. The remote came with a different Pionner Premier head unit than what I have in there now. I had a model from last years line that did not support displaying the full 16 characters on the XM display (only
so I upgraded. The HU that I have in there now retails for $499, I paid $399 and it comes with a "credit card" remote, but you can order the steering wheel remote seperately from pioneer.

I'll check circuit city this weekend just to get prices. They sometimes have good deals. I am about ready to shoot my factory cd player. It hates my journey cd. Brand new cd that will play in any cd player I have except the car cd player. No matter what I do the cd play will not stop spitting out that cd. If it doesn't want to play my brand new journey cd then its gotta go!!
