NIce job on the speaker, do you have the matching speaker in yet, I'd like to see the pics of the final outcome. And what corvette said, the 6.5" speakers can't be mounted behind the stock panels, I've given it a shot but it can't be done not on the 94'* anyway. I think after seeing you put those 6/5" in I'll give it a shot myself, I'll have to find grills for mine though. Nice work on the install!

if you were to do it again it'd twist the wires together and then solder, also heat up the cable not the solder when you are trying to solder it. oh and shrink tubing is very usefull here too. bettter then tape to it should work much better. personally i prefer not to see the speaker and aftermarket grill at all but your install does look clean.

Thank for the tips. As I mentioned earlier, it was hard to hold eveything in place and an extra set of hands would have been great. I started to heat up the wire first, but as you can see in one of the pics, the insulation started to melt and I didnt want it to look like it had been in an electrical fire. Electrical tape was all I had at the time of install but it works so I went with it.

Ive been installing car audio for a few years now and nothing has burned up on me so I guess im doing good

EDIT: wake: LOL I live in a condo and work is not permitted on the premises, so I have to pull way back behind my building where the commercial parking spots are. It so happens that they are clearing the lot behind my building to put in another apartment complex.

Flux, Flux, Flux!! Gotta use that flux while soldering. Even if the solder has flux in it already.
Just put a little flux on the wire, heat it a little with the iron so it melts into the wire strands. Voila!

Side note, thats a good install with those speakers. Wonder if I can slap some 12'* on my doors?

you dont have to use flux. I've never used it for soldering.

My door pannels and the trim piece on the outside rattle with 6.5"ers you would have to do serious deadening for 12" '*
