170 MM of excursion - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

its just a driver. mostly for concert type use. not for bass( as we know it) Its unbeleivable though. I read the article on it not that long ago. I think it can do 160db in open air with a 2ft by 2ft steel plate acting as the "cone".

I've seen footage of it with the plate on Adire web site. I don't know if its still their.

The way I understood it is... it'* not the driver that'* impressive... it'* the motor... I think the motor is dubbed the parthenon. I know there was a huge misunderstanding about this not too long ago.... either way it'* pretty freakin awesome.
