Could have just been bad gas. SES light came on in my car 2 weeks ago. Filled up the tank with new gas, light went away. Manual says it may take up to 2 full tanks of gas.

alrite!!! 36345, SES light came back on@!!!!!!!! heheh tomorrow *monday* im going to change it and get the code.

alrite stupid light is still on, havent had it scaned but if it is the O2, whats a good one to get and it would be for the front right?! cuz duh its under the hood?!?! P/N?!!?

My brother had a similar problem with his '96 SE. The mechanic that scanned it, cleared the code, and then told my brother that sometimes he sees this code come up, when people take the gas cap off to get gas, and still have the car running. Of course, the computer will recognise a problem in fuel line pressure, or something to that effect.

that is true, but im one of those people that dont do that. i always turn my car off when filling up! its bad for the car i heard. plus its a way for the damn thing to catch fire!! thanks!

ENGINEERED for that mileage, maybe. To total failure. But O2 sensors get weak in the 30-50k range and don't provide optimum AFR. Mileage will slowly decrease, and it can have a long-term negative effect on your catalytic converter.

When I was younger, and had my forst car, the carb didn't require the engine to be off, and there were no scares of a static spark causing an explosion, but we still shut our cars off because we believed the gas being added would stir up any crap laying in the bottom of the tank, and clog the fuel filter. It'* funny, it has become more important, and for different reasons, but we still have concern for an old habit.
