Default Wipers come in with braking??

ok, out of no where my wipers started acting up on my car. wouldn't shut off basically...like they were in an intermitent mode or whatever. got a brand new ac delco switch setup for it...and replaced last night. started car....they were off..assumed fixed and drove to work this morning.

THEN, i noticed when coming to a stop once applying the brake pedal...they would come on like in an intermitent mode again. as long as brake is depressed, they run like that. once i take foot off and accelerate....they are off again!!

is there some stupid circuitry built in with braking and the wipers???
Thanks
Thoroughly annoyed

Believe it or not, we have had another problem similar to this posted.

Unfortunately, there was no post reporting what fixed the problem.

yes, i saw that post and PM'd the poster of it to see if he found a fix. since he hadn't on here, i posted a new post.

any ideas?

only thing i have done to car lately is i did replace the intermediate shaft. thinking i am going to check under dash area to make sure i didn't catch any wires or anything that are getting pulled with the brake pedal when moved......but i think that is out there a bit..but worth checking i guess.

ok, car did more tonight on way home than it did on the way to work. now, on the way home, i noticed that it also would do it when i would accelerate hard from stops. also, if i would turn hard it would do it. but each time it would be slow like on an interval mode. i checked it also like this....i came to stop sign with no one around...actually coming to a stop...they came on...but, i put the car in park and applied the brake...nothing...they didn't come on that way. but, once i went in drive went down road a ways and applied the brake again...they came on again.....

THEN, i got kinda pissed off about it and took off hard at last stop i had....let it run out some...and i hit a hard bump in the process...with doing that......they came on...and FAST. like it was stuck in high mode...and i couldn't get them to turn off from that until i went across another bump.

SO, it seems like i have a bad connection somewhere...something loose or something. i got a haynes manual tonight....and i see a few things in the circuit...but of course don't know wheere to find any of it....looks to be some sort of control board?

anyone know where to locate this at???

OK as you saw the other post....same question. Do your headlights come on (during the day) when the problem starts? If not, it'* not likely something in the switch or associated wiring, but instead a problem with the driver board for the motor. That is located under the cowl on the driver'* side of the car.

i will have to paymore attention to the headlight situation. i don't really know the answer to that since i am use to not worrying about it since it does all of it on its own. but i guess a sure way to know is the instrument panel coming on during day.

i looked under dash knee board area, didn't see anything down there out of norm. i pulled connections and reconnected them, made sure nothing looked like it was bound up against anything metal..no breaks in wires......it has to be somewhere else in the circuit wiring....

i will look under cowl area next. any test that can be done on that situation?

headlight situation doesn't seem to change things.

i currently have the wiper motor assembly removed from the cowl area. i can see that at some point someone has been into it with this assembly before. so, i don't know if this was a used part already or not that is in there. but, they had used a wire tie to hold the connector to the motor connection to keep it from coming loose. my guess it is no good.

i see couple on ebay im watching...but i am going to a pick and pull yard this saturday...so i am going to try to find one there first..save on shipping.

ill keep it posted.

ok, got a used wiper motor assembly from morad parts. while swapping i noticed my wire harness had a small break in the insulator for the black wire up by the motor, so i rewrapped it.....installed it all, and so far it is working right!! May have been the harness, may have been the motor....either way...it was up in the motor area.

i will say the most annoying part of install was wiper arm going back on....i had messed with the linkage so much trying to get it all back in there that i got it out of position, so i had to redo my arm positions on the studs..no biggie..just annoying.

Thanks!
