Where is the "Vehicle Data" Stored....
in the DIC...I want to Reset the PCM and dont want to loose the stored memory such as the fuel econ, oil life, fuel range, and the rest of the memory
if i just pull the PCM Fuse will this reset the PCM?

i am pretty sure just by cutting power to the PCM its not going to erase the DIC info.
That would seem wired if they did it that way :?

Hey Pat, I don't believe the PCM stores that info....I'm not sure where it is stored, but I don't recall it resetting when I disconnected the battery overnight. Unfortuantely that'* just a theory so I don't want you to run with it

On my 2000 i know if i disconnect the battery for only a few minutes it will reset everything in the DIC, it could be different for other years but im guessing 2000-2005 is all the same.

I didn't think that the 2000+* had one module known as the body control module, but that it was actually the IPM, DIM, and RIM working together, that made up what is generally referred to as the Body Control Module?

I do recall reading that info such as oil life remaining needs to be recorded before replacing specific modules so that info can be replaced. I looked over my documentation again and for the life of me can't remember where I saw this. I don't believe that any 'one' module stores all the information. It also seems reasonable that the PCM will be responsible for at least a portion of the data (although I can't say with 100% certainty).
