Wheel Hubs on 2005 SLE
I replaced both of my fronts last fall at roughly 85,000 miles due to noise on turns that I couldn't hear, but others could.
I replaced one with a NAPA hub, and the other from Advance. They were roughly around $100 a piece and I've used these hubs previously without problems. Within 2 months, I was getting the ABS/Traction control off along with the service stability system. A scan showed RF WSS intermittent. The local NAPA warrantied it, and gave me an upgrade to their higher lever hub ($234!)
Recently, the warnings were back. Now, the same thing with the LF hub from Advance. This one I'm replacing with one from Intense that I bought during their weekend sale.
The bearings seem fine on both, and after talking with my usual parts supplier, he said that more of the "cheaper" ones are having problems with the WSS. So, if you want to save some time, get a good quality hub. Unfortunately, those seem to be becoming harder to define.

When I replaced my first one I bought a cheapo at Advanced. It made a loud noise right away. I took it back and got another. It made a different loud noise right away. I bought the third one at CarQuest and it worked perfectly right away. It has been about 40k miles on it without any problems....

Had my drivers front replaced at 26K because it was making a noise while turning. It was real noticable around 45 or 50mph. So far the others are holding up ok, now at 31K.
