whats wrong with these pictures?!
Wow, someone chewed through a few gears
. Sorry, I don't mean to laugh at your misfortune, that has to suck horribly...but I have to wonder, is tranny failure a common issue with the 2000+ Bonnes? I'm going to be buying an SSEi soon, and probably with higher mileage (60K+ most likely) becasue thats really all I can afford with the baby coming in december...should I be worried?

The series II 3800 SC was attached to the 4T60-E HD for 1 year... 1996.....
In 97 that engine started using the all new 4T65-E....
But it seems that the 00-01'* were having some issues with the 4th gear splines, if memory serves....
In any event, thats not a pretty sight..

we still haven't pulled the tranny yet. But we're planning on replacing it with a GM rebuilt.
Is it common for this to basically happen over the span of 1 day?! The transmission never acted up until 2 hours before I was stranded on the side of the road?!

Ok now you guys have me all nervous, dammit...
If I end up buying a 2000 or 2001 Bonne, should I just expect to replace the tranny at some point? Or am I not reading that correctly, and really its ALL of the 2000-current Bonnevilles that suffer from the same problem?
