255 is just a wider tire it wont affect your speedometer. It will help braking and traction all around for that matter.Like pontiac said wider is better.

I will consider myself deservingly scolded. Dumb excuse of the day: my gauge broke and I haven't taken time to get a new one. I didn't realize they should be checked that often. Thank you for the info! Perhaps we could create a "single chic checklist for car maintenance"...?? RE: wider tires: I've heard people say the wide profile tires would handle worse in snow....???

you will be going about 59.7 mph
we get about 20" of rain a year, no problem with hydroplaning yet ! ! !
