i dont remember the site
goto www.streetkeys.com and they have them. a factory key at that site is 60bucks, a 'GM' one is 22. just yahoo/google search 200? bonneville keys

Rogue

Getting a key cut, and getting a key FROM a hardware store are two different things.

How much did you pay for your key?
no one said buy from a HW store
malatu

I got a key cut for my 2002 sseiat my local hardware store for 18 dollars.

It was simply a family owned hardward store located in Dover DE. I have had chip keys for both my 92 and 02 bonniville cut there. No kidding.... $18. The owner showed me something called a "programable key" they also carry. Not sure exactly what a programable key is, it looked a bit bulky and cost quite a bit more as well.

Default PK3 Transponder Key Programming

I got my new blank in and with it I have the key programming steps.

Very simple:

1. Insert the original key into the ignition, turn to the "ON" (RUN) position and then back to OFF and remove the key.

2. Within 15 seconds, insert the new key and turn it to the "ON" (RUN) position.

3. The security light will light up for 2 seconds to indicate that the new key has been programmed.

...and to think the local dealership wanted $35.00 to program a new key after asking me to pay $65.00 just for the key, eBay people....eBay.

Now how about my original question..... what are the programming steps for the keyless remotes? Not key..... "Keyless Remote"

Any ideas?

You sneaky dawg you. I can try that, I am back there for an oil change in two weeks. I think I will get my drive info reprogrammed while I am there.

Default The final word is.....

...that the 2001'* and newer will not self program without using a scan tool to enter the programming mode. Any programming steps that tell you to turn the ignition on and off twice while holding down the unlock button will not work.

What do you do? Go to the dealership and beg them not to charge you their 1 hour minimum for 10 minutes of time or find someone with a scan tool who will do it on the side for a reasonable price.

I purchased a pair of new remotes on ebay for 15.00 total, so I am still ahead of the game for the savings over full retail.
