Update! Last Monday, the 28th, I reached in back where the rear plug wires are and just sort of felt around, made sure the wires (that I could reach) were not touching other things and so forth. Over the course of the next couple of days, the noise i heard lessened..then came back... then went away totally. No noise for about a week now.

Amplified sound through the speakers is what I'm chalking it up to... thank you again BC Buds!
