That thingee is probably the air pump.

On the tune up. While you have the coolant drained, it would be a great time to take off the throttle body and clean it as well.

I just cleaned by throttle body probably 3-4 weeks ago because my gas pedal was sticking when i would first drive the car. I am going out to my car for a picture now.

Yup! That'* the AIR pump. What state are you in? That will answer why you have it, unless the car is from a strict emissions state.

I live in Pennsylvania, but it'* originally from New York.

What does it do? I don't have the air pump end to pump anything up in my trunk.

Is it auto-ride leveling?

Will this be a problem in doing the solid motor mount?

Nope that AIR pump is for smog states. What it does is inject clean air into the exhaust, diluting the emissions so it comes out of the exhaust pipe cleaner. I am not sure if it will affect the solid mount, but I cannot see why it would.

Does it make a pretty noticeably loud GRRR type sound back by the muffler?

Mine makes this noise roughly 10-20 seconds after turning the car on.

Just did some researching the BRRRR sound is the auto-level ride.

What a cool feature. I love this car more and more everytime I learn something about it.

Thanks everyone!!

Okay last question, is there any complication to disconnecting the air hose going to that air pump (the one in the pictures)?

I would like to move it in order to take off the 3 bolts for the mount.
