if it is a 92-99 then the whole pod just pops out, no hand tools required

To replace the traction control switch you need to remove the shifter trim plate. The switch does not have a screw retaining it but does have a compression clip that can only be released from the trim plate.
To remove the trim plate,
1st remove the shifter T handle, small c-clip located to the front of the shifter (may have to slide the shifter skirt down to see it).
2nd remove the storage tray (small cubby that has the cig lighter in it) at the base of the shifter. It just pops out (work out one corner with a small flat bladed screw driver).
3rd lift out the shifter trim plate, 4 clips hold in place, start at one corner and work your way around releasing the clips.
Now you can access the traction control switch compression clip and remove.

Default Lots of lights out

Hello, I have a similar problem with my 02 SSEI. The lights are going out all over. I have various lights out on the seat heat controls, the radio, the HUD controls, etc.....Do I need to remove the dash to get to all this? Are these bulbs easy to replace or dealer type replacment. Makes the Dash look bad when some controls have light and others do not.

are these bulbs internitent? or out all the time?
I'm afraid the dash lights and radio lights can not be replaced, theyre led and are non serviceable. You could have poor connection or ground though? The body control module and main harness are under the dash.

Default Dash Lights

Hello PontiacDad, no the lights are out all the time. I have lights out on the radio controls, lights out on heated seat controls, lights on on the dash by the HUD controls, etc.... So now what, I just wait until someday the whole dash is dark?
I cannot replace anything? The dash looked like a jet airplane interior when I bought it in 2002, now in the last year with lights going out little by little its stating to look poor. I have payments still to make on the car, looks like if I am stil paying, the car should have all its interior lights......
