Ok, weird. I can't say for sure really if it would work electrically or not. The solenoids may differ between the years. Verify they both have the same trans electrical connector.

ok if my bonneville has a 2.93 will the 3.05 work if the connectors are the same?

Sure, but you may get a code saying something about improper gear ratio. You would have to have someone with a Tech 2 reprogram for the correct FD ratio.
