Today my 01 se started shifting real hard,like it might break a mount.Any chance a filter and fluid would help.it does have 170000 on it ,fluid looks good on the stick and its right a full,was alittle over so I pumped some out .

Does the fluid have a burnt smell to it? Is there any speks or flecks in the fluid?

A fluid and filter change might make a difference. The main thing this will accomplish is to get the pan off and see if there is any metal shavings in the bottom. If not, we can look at other issues like mounts, pressure regulators, etc.

If this happened all of a sudden, I would suspect a trans mount over the fluid. That tends to be more weak shifts then harsh shifts. however, a fluid/filter change is a very good idea. Check your front mount on the drivers side. Sometimes the shock comes loose.

I have the same problem with my SE but it only happens when it'* cold outside
