Stock traanny VS Performance vs stock upgraded parts
Mine wants to try going into gear but will not move in any gear. Pushed it a little harder to get it going once and it jerked forward, squaked the tires and then I heard a grinding sound. No loeaks though and fluid was clean. Thanks for the heads up.
By the time I add the performance upgrades individually, would I not be looking almost the same price as the entire trans? I have to keep the car for at least 5 more years. Still owe on it too. I was planning to do the chip, CAI and Pulley eventually. Adding another 50 horse and "using it" from time to time will most likely cause another stock tranny to bug out on me again? No?

I was looking into a Raptor 4L60E for my Yukon. I was totally prepared for the price, cause performance= $. But ended up not keeping it anyway. Maybe find a good trans shop, get a lower mile junker trans, go through it/replace hard parts that might be messed up, and have them rebuild it with all performance parts you want.
Here are two other ones I found for ya. I dont know of the dependability of the people building them though.

performance auto transmissions are expensive.... plain and simple. Like I said performance= $ !!!!!!! DO it once with a upgraded one or 3 times with a stock one, its up to you.

On second thought.... anyone know how much HP/TRQ the 4T65E-HD'* can handle?
If you are only thinking about 50 more hp I think a shift kit and some better servos will suffice. Instead of going ALL out with a monster.

If you are looking for a good solid transmission and would like to know how much power you can expect to put through it w/o issues call 614-873-6499 (I like X108 although any of the group are able to help)
Intense-Racing.com is where I chose to get my trans done. Their knowledge of the product and the way they stand behind it were a large part of my decision.

Nashville cowboy,
Take a look at this as your issue sounds similar to one I WAS having.

It could be something as simple as using the mentioned cleaner (which I didn't use, so it could have taken longer to clean itself) and fluid/filter change. My problem cleared up and was FAR less expensive than replacing a transmission (which I considered for a while).
