The Bonnie is a heavy car but what is an extra 15 MPH? My 2001 SSEi tops out at 125 MPH due to the speed limiter. I have had it there a hadfull of times. The fastest I have ever driven was 148MPH in my ex-girlfriends 1997 Viper GTS I drove it all the time. When speeding you have to smart about it. I would never be weaving in and out of traffic at over 100 MPH. If I drive that fast it is only in that lane and not with a lot of traffic out there.

you dont have to weave in and out of traffic to be a smart speedy driver. Anything can happen. A crack on the road can cause you to loose traction. An unecpected lane change, a blown steer tire. All this can play a role at high speeds. I am not preaching or anything but lets thing ahead here before we do something that might not llook good in the long run.

maybe its just be.......but on a empty 2 lane highway going 140 behind a s4 didn't seem all that fast.....i mean, it was fast, but not all its cracked up to be. then again there wasn't anything like trees or buildings to give a sense of speed

Default Top Speed

I had a 2003 SSEi here in Germany and ran it on the autobahn and got to 130 mph. At that time the limiter kicked in but a German told me that when that happens to quickly tap the accelerator. I did that and the car got to 138 mph before it kicked in for good. The car got totalled (not by me) with only 2500 miles. I have since ordered a GXP and I should have it by mid July. I'll post some updates and German reactions then!

2005 GXP Has no Limiter - I wittnessed 164mph on the HUD - Stats show this to be aerodynamically unlikely - I lived it I-30 East Texas

Top speed or limited speed?

The 95 car will either be limited at 108mph or 128mph depending on the tires it shipped with. You can locate this on the drivers door sticker.

Top speed will depend on many things like weather/temps/air density etc. Mostly though it'* probably around the 150ish area.
