can I take a 2004 chev 3.8 supercarged out of monte carlo and put it in my 2000 ssei with little or no trouble

You should be able to. You'll have to switch your mounting brackets over for sure. The other guys will chime in with more compatiblity info

Bill is the one that can really answer that. But ya, motor mount may be different. But for the most part should be close enough to switch over with little effort.

could i drop entire motor, trans ,suspention,basicly what im wondering is could i disconectthe entire system from where the strutmounts to car role it out from under monte and role it under ssei /

That one I don't know. It will come down to if the sub frame has the same mounting points.

You'll need to talk to Dave at TEP to see about the programming to run the transmission.

The parts will basically bolt right in. A swapped bracket here and there, using your axles and wiring harness it'll all pretty much bolt in. It'* basically the same motor (new version) and same trans. But the trans had some updates.
