Instrument Cluster Trim
I have to remove the plastic trim piece surrounding the instrument cluster on a 2000 SSEi. There are what appear to be two recessed connectors on the underside of the trim above the cluster. Anyone know what these are? Do they just snap out, or are they covers that are hiding recessed screws?

These are 2 piece push in pins. With a small flat head screw driver you should be able to gently pull out the center section of the pin and then remove the entire pin from the bezel

The pin is actually two parts. The center part, and the outer ring. When you put the dash back together you're going to want to put the outer ring in first (after you snap the dash into place) then push the center pin in to hold it in place.

Ensure it actually 'snaps' in or else it will rattle loose. The first time you pop this out your going to think it broke untill you see the 2 piece design.

Debating about taking mine out again and painting it Silver or just get a dash kit.
And yes, you will think you broke it the first time you take it out.

Oh you'll see it either way, probably going dash kit. They have the cutouts for the words and stuff on the doors. Big pain to mask all that off. The main cluster piece would paint just fine, I want the center console and dash vents and door trim. I rather go the lazy way and get the dash kit I think. Unless you talk me out of it.
