Default Tapping/popping noise in A pillar?

OK, so a couple months ago I heard a strange tapping/popping noise from the front of my car. I can't really describe it, but it was just after I left work and only did it a few times intermittantly for a few minutes. It was kind of raining/sleeting at the time so I thought maybe it was just sleet hitting somewhere on the car. I think there may have been one other time it happened. Well, fastforward to yesterday and I heard it again. It was the same situation, only it wasn't raining. But it had rained earlier in the day. Well as I heard it, I leaned forward as much as I could, and from what I can tell I'm thinking it was coming from the A pillar. So I'm guessing it'* the water from the sunroof. I don't know how the drain system works, but is there any possibility it'* leaking inside by the dash? I've never had any signs of a leak with all the rain/snow we've had, but it was just such a strange noise.

IIRC was it JDQ or Jwakamud that found leaking drains and got them fixed up on an 00. I believe they found a connector in that area that could be causing the problem.
Found a Haro post with good pics

Yes I was one of them. Apillar just pulls off if I recall and youll see the hard plastic line right there.Open sunroof and pour some water in drain and hopefully it will come out of rubber flap in wheel well behind tire. Its a start.

Neither do i but might as well check it is easy enough.Sure it was the pillar and not dash or something.

Crack a faucet open and let it drip. In 2 minutes you may go nuts.

While I may have been stretching on thinking it'* water. It seemed to be a possible explaination. Afterall...what else might be in the A pillar and causing noise?

My thought was maybe water was leaking out of a drain connection and landing on something loose like a wire connector or something which then slaps against something else in the dash.

Otherwise I thought maybe it was merely just the sound of the water draining along with air suction or something. You know, like when you flush the toilet and at the very end it makes that kind of sucking sound. I'm not sure how it would sound like that, but like I said, I didn't know how that is all set up in there, so I'm grasping at straws trying to reason what it could be.
