Default 2001 help with struts and shocks

I need to do all four struts and shocks. I was wondering how much $ and should there be anything else I should be changing? I read in another post that you should use the delcos for the rear because they come with the shock mounts. Going this route should save you some money. If you brought the mounts and shocks seperately it would cost more. Is there anything else in the front besides the strut itself that would need to be changed? I also read somewhere about strut mounts in the front go bad or something about some bearing or spring seat being to small and you should use the 2002 or 2003. Or did they correct this problem with updated parts. Forgive me if I'm getting some of this stuff wrong. I figure if its apart change it all. My car has alot of miles (167K) and its most likely time anyway. The only brands that I see are the delcos, and monroe. Any others that I should be looking out for.
Last note hub bearings. My pass side is on the way out. Drivers side went at 50K. The dealer wants 330.00 for just the part. Advance Auto wants 108 to 148. There seems to be 2 designs. One plastic and one metal. Is there away to tell which one you have just by using the production date? And is there one brand better built than the other or are they just the same?
Thanks everybody for thanking the time to read this and for all your help on all the problems I have had. This forum is great and saves me alot of money. Thanks again. Lou.

lets tackle this one question at a time, rear shocks i would recommend ONLY delcos, because you get new mounts and also, a correct right and left side (air line fitting placement is different) you can get them for $202/pair shipped from www.gmpartsdirect.com

The front struts i would also recommend getting new mounts/bearings, especially with that many miles.. these parts tend to wear out over time. I have heard very mixed reviews about monroe shocks and struts, and based on peoples feedback, if that was my only 2 options io would stick to the delcos, unless there is a BIG price difference.

I would check out www.intense-racing.com for new Hub bearings aswell

650 is a bit low for dealer pricing i think, just the rear shocks alone at dealer prices are 320+2hrs which is over 450
