Can you elaborate more on the surging?

usually it surges when the car is warm and has been sitting for about 10 to 15 minutes. Never when the car is cool. hope this helps

Does it seem to be 'hunting' or pulsing, rev from high to low back to high and so on? Or is this something that happens when in drive, like the transmision?

If its while in idle it sounds like a fuel delivery problem? Does it go away after the car is warmed up?

The motor jumps back and forth from 800 rpms to 1000rpms. Once I hit the gas it will smooth out. It only happens in park.

Try some fuel injector cleaner on your next fuel up. And have a look at the vacum lines for leaks.

My 02 does this occaisionally in warm weather. I mentioned this the last time it was in at the dealer, but I don't think they did anything with it. Maybe someone could check for a TSB.
