Default Sunroof Problem

I've searched the BonnevilleClub site for information on the sunroof for my 2000 Bonneville SSEi but couldn't find what I needed. I'm hoping our resident gearheads or administrators can help out. The plastic guide on the sunroof broke and before I start dismantling the sunroof, I wanted to check to see if there were any pictures of the sunroof mechanisms to review or issues to watch out for before I started tearing into it. I have a subscription to Alldata but they weren't helpful much. Thanks.

Haro,
Thanks for the prompt response. Alldata doesn't have much information at all about the sunroof and I have emailed them with a complaint. I have seen your posts with the drain line issue but I would appreciate some pictures of the sunroof from the top and bottom. Is the plastic track hard to replace? I hope I can repair it from the top and not have to remove any parts of the headliner.

Interesting. What are you looking for? This is the information from the free section of AllData for the sunroof. It would seem to have about anything you may want.
Sunroof/Moonroof

It does seem to have even more information than what my subscription for the 2000 has.

Most repairs require the headliner out in factory service manual.
What it the guide on? The track (staionary to the roof) or on the sunroof frame (moving part)?
you can take the glass out without removing the head liner, pop it open in the vent posistion and remove the screws. Do not operate the sunroof with the glass removed or you'll bugger up the wind deflector.

This would be great. I lost all functionality with my sunroof. It seems that a lever has simply fallen off. I hear the motor running.........then I can manually push it back...then I run it again (no movement) then I can push it closed.

Archon,
Thanks for reminding about the alldata 2003 Bonneville because this was my wife'* car and she told me something broke but when I got home, I found out that is was the wind deflector on the sunroof. A piece of the pivot area broke but I removed the wind deflector using the method you referred to at Alldata and I am using J&B Weld to glue it back together before reinstalling it. You guys, including WillWren are great and I thank you for all the good advice. Keep up the good work
