Changing LIM gaskets
Was going to start on this yesterday but it started to snow and put an end to that idea.
Today could be touch and go as well but I'm itching go, cold or not.
I got everthing I need but I'm not sure on the fuel injector o-rings, I only got 6 of the rail o-rings and I doubt the local napa will have anything in stock?
Built a garden hose adapter out of an old rad cap last night, looks like it will work to flush the system.
Took me an hour last night to crack the rad drain, I think the dex has it all cruded up, I left it closed for now.

Crud can build up in the bottom of the drain quicker than the top. Under a year ago I swapped radiators and had it clean. With only Prestone LL in it, the crud had plugged the drain at the bottom, not inside. Before opening it..use a small pick or something to ensure there'* no dirt/crud in the tube.
You are a brave man doing this in the cold.

Due to the weather all I got done was the hot water flush. My cap leaked a bit but the water felt nice at 2*c outside
Started the car and cycled through the defrost/heater/ac for about 10 mins. everything was flowing clean once i got wrapped up.
Pulled out the alt and most of the wiring. Picked up a fuel line seperator tool and ordered the other injector o-rings, suppose to be here saturday.
On a side note took apart the fuel pump wiring back to the fuse box, will be uping the size of wire going to the pump and improving the ground.
In case your curious its the light grey connector on the back of the fuse panel, terminal A2, red wire.

You really don't have to separate the fuel lines. Simply swing the whole fuel rail up and over towards the firewall then tie it to the wipers. Injectors will point right at you and then it'* real easy to replace O rings.
Still snowing Brrrrr...

If you don't have the tool... I agree about the fuel rail. I had the tool sitting in the drawer and must say..it'* only an extra second to get the rail completely out of the way.
Also to mention is that since you will have both coolant elbows on hand, you may find it easier to remove the accessory bracket and put it back after the intake manifold, this way you don't need to consider lowering the intake with the elbow partially inserted and apply any stress to it. (Accessory bracket is 2 bolts).

After the LIM is back in place, simply re-install the bracket with the elbows.
