Default Strange question

Started the car up and revved it a little in park and noticed the car move ahead a little. Sure enough every time I revved a little the car move ahead just a little. Does this mean anything?

I assume car is in park when doing this? Does it roll forward then roll back, or just keep going forward?

You mean rocking forward I hope !!!

That would be because of the sideways mounted engine,,,,,,but,,,, if its actually moving forward that would be scary !!!!! Dont park on a hill !!!!!

That'* what I'm trying to determine. If it'* a broken parking pin, or something else.

In park. Car rocks forward a little and then goes back the same amount. Makes sense with the sideways mounted theory. I will have to check my other front wheel drive vehicles.

Check your front transmission mount. It'* not much more that a black painted marshmallow from the factory. Most likely it'* allowing the motor to move much more than it should. Hence the rocking when you rev. You are probably lifting it up pretty well.

Speaking from experience when that front mount goes you'll lose A ton of control and firmness in handling at high speeds. So it'* something you should get checked out ASAP. Going 70+ mph & a heavy engine block moving around inside the car, can spell disaster.

When my front trans mount went I got a lot of surging.

Dan..imagine that theirs lifts 3-4 inches when the mount goes bad. It'* funny to see and made me wonder why the newer was worse than our style.

It was bad enough in mine. My wife was yelling at me for making the car jump around when we were in heavy traffic. I'm like I'm not doing it.
