Default SSEi wont rev over 4000 RPM HELP!

OK new to this forum but I need some help, my 2000 SSEi started acting funny the other day and I completely lost. Heres whats wrong:
While in park it will not now rev past 4000 RPM
While driving it will not rev past 4000 RPM
I thought it was maybe a bad coil pack, so checked them, they are all fine. It sometimes also has the SES light come on, but goes off shortly after or when you turn the key off.
The motor sounds queit and the supercharger too so I don't know what it is.
Has anyone had this problem? Any help would be great.
Also, I don't think this has anything to do with it but I will say it too, 4th gear is out of the car, the clutch pack went on it so I drive down the highway at about 2300 RPM.
HELP

Get the car scanned and post the code, that will help. Also, pull the plugs and inspect, post anything odd, such as a black plug, not which cylinder it came from.

from what i was told from GM they have put a saftey feature into the computer (rev limiter) so that while the vehicle is in park it will not rev over 4000 RPM to prevent damage to the engine.
mine did that also and i took it to them and that is what i was told however not reving over 4000RPM while driving is a whole other issue have not experienced that yet please let us know what you find out

Could be in limp home mode as well, all the more reason to get it scanned.

The rev limiter will keep it from going over 4K while in park. With 4th gear being gone, that will really restrict the upper end of the RPM vs. MPH. Get it scanned, and if possible under the driving conditions you normally do that throws the SES light.

UPDATE, oil pressure is pegged so thinking that sensor is bad, does anyone have the exact name and part number of the sensor so I can order it, also does anyone have a picture of where the sensor is located?
I was doing some more research and found something saying it may be bad fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator (1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi works fine @3900 RP... - JustAnswer)
Anyone have this problem with a fuel pump or reguator?

Oil pressure switch

This is right by your oil filter.

limiter is 4000 in Park, Neutral and Reverse

oil pressuse sensor doesn't cause any other issues usually, I drove with a pegged one for about 4 months, it is a bit of a pain to replace especially is you have big hands

if you think its the fuel pressure regualtor have the pressure at the rail checked

Do you know what the proper spec is for the fuel system at the rail?
