Thinking about joining the Club...
I am looking at a '00 with 113,000 miles on it. Has every option I know of Leather, moonroof, HUD, Bose stereo, spoiler, etc... It has a couple things wrong with it and so I thought I would ask you guys, being the experts what you guys thought of it.
First problem is some sort of oil leak on the left hand side of the engine. Are there problems with the valve gaskets? Head gaskets? I know on the Ford Tbird 3.8 they had all kinds of problems with the headgaskets... Is this a common problem with an easy fix? or no?
Second it was raining last night and there was some water that leaked/dripped out of the arear on the roof with the lights and homelink system. I checked the troughs of the sunroof and they were dry, I am thinking maybe the lines were disconnected or somethin funky like that. The dealer also just had the windshield replaced and thinks that it might be water seeping in from the top rubber seal, it was loose and could be the problem, what do you think?
Bax right window doesn't go up or down. I have done some reading and found that the regulators suck and are prone to fail. Is this something I can replace myself pretty easily? I know the part is somethin like 300 from GM or 190 from the rebuild guys on ebay.
The front left fog light doesn't work any ideas? I figure it is something electrical just needs to be traced, but figured I would ask you guys.
Is the suspension an air ride? If so is it prone to fail?
Are there any other areas of concern that I should be worried about?
Thank you for your time and replies.

Sounds like either an SLE or SSEi. I am really pulling for the SLE. It is ir ride. Not to many problems have been know for failure though. If its an SSEi, it might be a leak on the supercharger. MAybe the oil is leaking out by the screw not being tight enough. maybe..... Foglight maybe need replacing.

So I am an idiot. It is an SSEi. Is that air suspension as well? The leak is on the passenger side by the belts. The dealership said they just replaced the oil in the supercharger. What screw are you talking about being loose?

I dont think its the supercharger oil, its clear if its new.
Look at the rear valve cover maybe you have a leak there. You might want to first clean the engine bay and undercarridge to help determine the location a bit better?
For the foglight first make sure the lamp is getting 12volts. You can check this with a simple volt meter.

Quite possible all of the above. I just wanted to make sure this engine didn't have a propensity to blow headgaskets, or anything expensive and time consuming like that. I am going to go over tonight hopefully and make an offer on it. Hope to be driving it home tonight... Thanx for the help. If all goes well, I will be part of the club...

You don't have to worry about the intake on an SSEi. It'* a Supercharger, not a plastic plenum
Oil leaks and blown gaskets are very uncommon to say the least. The leak you see could possibly also be power steering fluid?
