Has anyone had a problem with the Silver Star fog lamps #880, prematurely burning out?
I put a set on my 2003 SSEi in January. After 30 days, one burned out and I replaced it. Now, the other fog lamp has burned out? As far as I am aware, these bulbs are replacements for the factory bulbs with no increase in wattage. Is it just a coincidence, that I have had two burn out so quickly - perhaps a bad batch? I have my fog lamps always turned on.
Thanks

Alot of people have had these problems... to my knowledge I don't think anyone has contacted slyvannia. After installing my hella'*, I would reccomend a full lamp swap to anyone, just FYI. Good luck getting this cleared up...

I've had the same problem. I installed the SilverStar 880'* in January, three weeks later the right side burned out. (coating at tip appears to have flaked off from overheat) The left side is still operational, I put the old original 880 in the right for the time being. I contacted AutoBarn for an RMA, they sent me an RMA #, I sent the bad bulb back for replacement. If I have another failure, I'll just trash the whole idea of using the 880 ST'* & look into the other alternatives.

i love um...
bright as hell
For those looking for an alternative, GET THE HELLA ANGLE EYE'*, the h-3 bulb (55watt'*) is WAY BRIGHTER, than I went and got silver star H-3'* and AMAZING. All lights match and look great, clear corners add to the appeal.
That stinks that several of you have had problems with the 880SS. I tried the brighter bulb in the stock housing in my last car, tried several different bulbs and never was as bright as I wanted. Aftermarket lamps are where it'* at.
The Hella kit is pretty nice, it can be boughten at most pepboys too.
Alternatives are Blazertech 2200 or 3200, also naviagator cyber white I blieve all of these use h-3 bulb and will FAR outshine the wimpy stockers.
Got to do it, the eye'* just look so nice, mine flash with the alarm, only time I really see them, but looks so nice!

I emailed Sylvania and have still not received any reply? I think I will go back to stock light bulbs until I can locate the "Angel Eyes" in western Canada - that looks like the prefered alternative because I am not going to continue buying Silver Stars!
