Default shocks and springs

I basically know i need one of or both shocks and springs in the rear of my car. any body got any ideas..
now i dont know much, so is there better shocks/springs i can get than stock? and does anybody know how much its going to cost me to replace them with stock and a price for a upgrade. Im looking to upgrade if it doesnt cost to much. just wondering if you guys can tell me if i would be wasting my money upgrading my shocks/springs even though i have to replace the old ones.

thanks

tony

My KYB GR-2'* cost 140$ for the fronts and 80$ for the rears, my guess is OEM'* would be cheaper :? . If you have air ride I have no idea how much they would cost.

If you think the spring rate is fine, then look for some nice struts. Springs don't really wear out, but up to half of the valving in most modern struts can be shot by 40k miles. KYB'* have a good reputation, i don't know many others available for bonnevilles though.
