Shaking when accelerating
In the midst of being lazy the bonneville ran out of gas a couple days ago while I was driving. I tried to start it a couple times but I unfortunately had to push it to the gas station. Now when I really get on the gas the car hesitates and the front end shakes pretty good. In addition the SES light came on while I was accelerating and then went off about a minute later.
I read some other post that said it might be the injectors but since I have the SES light I wanted to be sure. My spark plugs are brand new autolites. I haven't got around to replacing the wires but I checked them and they appear to be ok. Any Suggestions???

Check for stored code(*). Can easily be done at Autozone for free.
Whatever tripped the SES is/was intermittent.

More then likely the SES code is a P030x code, or a misfire. If you ran out of gas you may have pulled some debris out of the tank. That would clog the fuel filter. Some might have gotten threw and plugged up the injectors. Have the code checked. Change the fuel filter, and try some injector cleaner.

Man you guys reply fast, thanks. Im going to go grab a filter and some injector cleaner today. Should I try a couple bottles to be on the safe side? O and I wondering could I have possibly damaged any of the injectors by trying to start to start it on an empty tank.

Add what ever the bottle says, no more then that. Hard to say if you damaged anything, it'* unlikely, but not impossible. Try the cleaner and filter and see if it settles down.

I agree with Dan, no more than what the bottle says. It'* even possible you had an air bubble in the line somewhere causing the hiccup.

Not related to running out of fuel, but hesitation and SES light coming on when you stand on it may be the plug wires on the coil end. Takes less than 2 minutes to check em. I had corrossion on the coil side of plug number 5. Caused the exact problem you are having. You mention you checked the wires, just reaffirming you pulled the coil side and did a visual.

I put new belden wires on today and the coils appeared fine. By testing them do you mean with a multimeter? There is definitely no corrosion on the coils, does this mean I need to remove them and check underneath. I am about ready to just replace them.
I had the car scanned today also and for some reason no code was stored so now I am back at square one.
