Yeah so anyway, I went ahead and made my heatshield out of plexi and some angled brackets. I like the way it looks and it'* pretty solid. I used Reflectix on the two sides and bottom of the box inside and out. I've got my intake tube insulated with the reflectix also. I am running a K&N RX-4750. I was showing it off to one of my buddies last night and, when I raised the hood and felt of the intake tube and the plexi box, I noticed there was still quite a bit of heat there. I know inside the engine compartment is not the coolest place to be, but I thought it would all be a little cooler than it is being insulated and all.
So if any of our more experienced than me members could give me some ideas how to cool it down I would be most grateful.
And one other thing how can I tell the temp of the intake air??
Also what is considered ambient air??
Thanks in advance for any and all help you give.
