Hey guys. I have the same problem with harsh shifts in my 2000 Bonne. It has about 140k and just started banging into each gear, 1-4. It even seems to jerk when it goes into lock-up. Another thing I also noticed was, when I am going down the road and shift from drive to neutral there is a harsh bang. Shouldn't it just free wheel at that point?

Scan the system for codes. It may have a P1811, which will not turn the engine light on.

hi, i had this same problem with my 01 grand prix gt at around 30,000 miles. i know that this is bonneville discussion but it turned out to be a TCC located under the side pan on the transmission. the dealership, under warranty, lowered the engine cradle and removed the side pan and replaced the TCC. thank you warranty. see ya
