Ok..this isn't carb'd so the vapor lock wouldn't apply as the 48psi + of fuel pressure would push through a vapor lock.

Sounds like this is posted more than one place...not sure. Did you clean the IAC as suggested?

Does the car chug/whatever worse than when it went to the mechanic?
Are there any codes stored that aren't illuminating the check engine light?

You reiterated the problem, but haven't mentioned what steps you've taken to try and fix the issue. Please help us help you by mentioning the steps you've taken beyond the fuel. Thanks

Does it have problems idling when hot, cold, or both? Make sure the IAC is clean, and as Bill suggested, see if any codes are there, not all turn on a light. Have you tried unplugging the MAF? The engine will stumble a bit and then smooth out. If the problem goes away, then the MAF may be the problem.

OK- New problems and actions

First off- I changed fuel filter- got throttle body cleaner and pulled airbox and the little foil thing (I assume it straightens the air out) and sprayed it all down. Fresh fuel again-93oct-
Now it'* starting to stall at 70% of the stop sign/lights where I'm required to stop. It is also starting to stall when I'm slowing down and turning say at an intersection- this evening lost power steering mid turn through an intersection- not a good situation- almost a pack of mailboxes in the grill.
It fires right back up and runs like an angel.

Don't know about codes- don't have a scanner- but no service/check engine light- which is confusing me- it knows if the seal on the gas cap goes bad but doesn't know it stalled 10 times in 30 minutes and can barely run in stop and go in town traffic??? On the cruise- like driving a Caddy- head in to town, my blood pressure goes up.

I have not unplugged anything and tried running it- It was having these symptoms before I had the gaskets done on Friday- it had stalled maybe once but I was surprised not more as bad as it would run "occasionally" - It'* almost like a sensor or something that is having issues getting ready to fail completely- it is so electrical like.

I'm waiting for dark- going to try misting water on everything and firing it up and see if there'* any arcing or something like that.

I keep hoping I put the one sentence in that you guys go "I know what it is!!!"

"Clean the IAC" OK, that'* the Idle Air controller- I did not specifically do that but going out to do that now---as soon as I find a picture that shows me what it is.

yup- just did that. I found a pic through search of one you had for sale actually- that helped me locate it. Looked about like your used one. I cleaned it up and the seat- put it back together. I'll go for a test drive now and see if that helped.

btw- I unplugged the device just to the right of that- TPS? it runs great with or without that plugged in- of course just in park. didn't try driving it unplugged.

ALSO- misted all the electricals with a spray bottle and worked the throttle- I'm not getting any arcing that I can see anywhere, and it'* pretty dark out tonight.

OK- IAC cleaned and re-installed and still no difference. It'* trying to stall at every stop and when under no load while decelerating I'm watching the tach- normally say at 55 let off throttle- falls back to about 1500 rpm then as it slows drops down to 8-900 rpm. as I'm coming to a stop say through25 mph or less tach drops from 800 down below 500 rpm that'* where she'* starting to die out-chugging and rough running. Unless i hit throttle a little it will stall now. Pretty much at it'* last breath whatever is wrong.
