Replacement plug wires
Now that I have an extra car for a couple of weeks, I decided to do some preventative maintenance work to the 2000 such as PCV, fuel filter, cooolant and hoses and plugs and wires. I must have spent 15 minutes trying to find the PCV valve but I did finally find it.
Anyway, I have read here that if you don't want to go to Taylor wires or something similar, to stick with the original style wires, not a replacement set like at Autozone or wherever. Does this mean original as in AC Delco which I though was no longer part of GM or does it mean original as in a GM set only obtained from a dealer?

Performance wise, stock wires are great for our car. You can get a set at NAPA for about 50 bucks with a lifetime warranty so no matter if you snap them, or cut them you can always get a replacement.
If you want to add color to the engine bay, Taylor wires come in a variety of colors and cost a bit more than stockers.

Taylors are $50... and that'* the same as $50 at napa right? 
Taylors are red and blue @ www.grandprixstore.com, more anywhere else, but they'll be in more colors. MSD are 53 @ jegs.

Thanks for the replies. The auto parts store where I do my business can't get AC Delco so that was out. I never could find anything in gmpartsdirect so I gave up there and wound up at grandprixstore and bought Taylors.
The auto parts store did do some investigation and said no one they knew of made 8mm for these cars. Little did they know.

While I'm waiting for the Taylor wires, I figured I would change the plugs. No problem on the fronts other than a little wiggling to break loose the wires from the plugs but I'm stumped on the backs. I got my hands on #2 but can't seem to break the wire loose from the plug. Any ideas or tips? I haven't even tried to get to #4 and #6 but are they best done from the top or bottom?
BTW, with nearly 60,000 miles on them running a 3.4" pulley for the last 50,000 of them, the plugs I have gotten out have been pretty ugly with the center electrodes rounded to a sharp tip.

Remove the bracket that holds your engine sight sound cover on from the back of the engine. This will make it easier to get to the rears. I do mine from the top but beware. The stock wires if old WILL break if you pull them to hard from anything but the boot. You may want to wait until you get your new wires in otherwise you may not be going anywhere for a while.
