Green goop around axle???
I was doing my rotation at work today and I noticed all this green goopy slime looking substance all around the axle, but it was on the inner tir rod and on the side of the tranny too. I checked the other side and there was some there too. Not as much as the driver side but this is weird because I have never heard of or seen anything like this. I will post pics when I get home but has anyone ever seen anything like that behind there front wheels??
Thanks
Thanks

I pulled on the boot and it seemed really snug. Actually I checked both sides. I guess it loosens up when I drive. Should I stop driving? Am I looking at a complicated process as far as changing the axles?

Replacing the axle isn't too bad. I did mine last fall. It basically consists of pulling the strut/spring assembly, removing the wheel hub from the controll arm (you'll need a 33mm axle socket), and popping the halfshaft out. The only thing I really had trouble with was getting the axle out of the transmission. It won't come out if you just pull. The trick is to place a prybar between the transmission and back of the axel shaft and pop the shaft out with short, quick prying motions.
