Gatorback 4060715 w/ 3.3" pulley - CRACKING BELT ?
Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I put on a 4060715 Gatorback Belt with my 3.3 pulley back in Oct. 05. (It was recommended by those with a 3.4 pulley.)
I recently pulley down to the 3.2 and noticed that my belt had what looked like stress cracks in it. Like the belt was stretched enough to crack. Has anyone else had this problem?

The gator backs come with relief cuts evenly spaced, could this be your cracks?
I chewed up 2 gator backs in 2 years, I have used the same dayton belt now for 2 years with no issues.

I'm having bad experiences with a Gates belt on the Zilla right now. It'* noisy, and causes my tensioner to chatter.
I may try Dayton, but then again, I've always had great luck with the Gatorbacks. Even with a 2.2" pulley.

You know I've had alot of sqeaking coming off my SC pulley ever since I put the gates belt on. I'm going to try a intense pulley though and see if the ANSI groove pattern fixes that. Other then the noise the belt is holding up great and almost 0 belt slipage on the 1-2shifts.

I have been using the same Gaterback belt for 2 years on a 3.1" pulley with no problems. That'* as small as I can go with that belt. With 3.0" and smaller I have to swap to a 700 from the 715.

I had the same problem with the Gatorbacks streching, cracking, slipping, and basically not lasting once I put on my 2" pulley for the track. I tried the Gates belt and have not had a problem since.

I'm running a Dayco from Advance, they have the same look of a gatorback. So far...about 8 months and all is well still...no noise, no slip, no problems
