Neighbor came to door saying lights on at 7am.Only red brake lights and red bonneville trunk lid brake lights on, must have been on all night .Car started ok drove to store and back and lights went out.Anyone know what was left on ?

I'd guess a bad brake switch.

agreed. it was probably stuck, then when you started the car you probably got it unstuck

Ok happened again last night , had to boost this morning .I went in and pushed brake pedal and lights went out .Where would I look for brake switch.Thanks

It'* toward the top of the brake pedal arm. You'll find two of them up there. One is for the light, the other is for the ABS/TC



To remove it, twist the switch (#4 is the one you want) counter-clockwise to remove it. Then disconnect the electrical connector.

To put it back in - head this warning....
Notice: When installing the brake pedal switches it is very important that the brake pedal remain in the full up or at rest position or damage to the brake system and/or switch misadjustment may occur.

Put the connection back on, put the switch into the retainer (#2 in the diagram) in the 6 O'Clock position. and push it in until the plunger is fully depressed, then turn the switch clockwise until it stops. The connector will be in about the 8 O'clock position

Thanks Archon , I will pull mine when I get a chance and see what the problem is before I run out and buy a new one.Is it called a brake pressure switch?

Brake Light Switch, or Stoplamp Switch

John, if you can replicate the problem and the brake lights remain on, get up under the dash area to check the stop lamp switch prior to depressing the brake pedal. This way you'll be able to determine if the actuator is sticking and not releasing or something of that nature.
