Radiator Fluid Change
Ok so I am going to change my radiator fluid and thermostat tommorrow but I want to make sure I do it right. I have instructions on how to install the thermostat but I don't know how to do the radiator. Can someone tell me where the drain plug is?? Also do I just drain the old and fill up with new Dexcool and that is it. Should I put some type of cleaner or something in there? Just want to make sure I do the right thing. I have never changed radiator fluid. Sorry if this is a dumb question, just gotta learn sometime.

If I remember, the radiator drain plug is on the driver'* side. It isn't real obvious but it is there so keep looking if you don't find it. Can't tell which engine you have but the L67 has 2 knock sensors on the underside of the block that unscrew very easily and drain the whole block.

Doing a flush is never a bad idea, and do it a couple days before a full change. Let it work. A few notes:
1. Make sure you determine that the flushing product is compatible with Dex-Cool.
2. Make D A M N sure you get it all out before re-filling with new coolant.
3. Get it professionally flushed if in doubt.

I have 55,000 miles on it. I thought since I have to drain some of it to put in the new 180 thermostat I would just change it all. I think I may just have it done professionally to make sure. Depends on how much they charge me.

Everyone I talk to, who needs to service their cooling system, I always try to encourage them to do it themselves. Unless they are retarded, and I really don't think they are smart enough to accomplish it. Of course, I would never say that to their face. Flushing is super easy.. I have done it a few times, it isn't the least bit hard. And in the end, it is worth every bit of the effort. Especially when you removed 1ga of pure scale and gunk that smells like 5 year-old [fermented] cat ****.
