AC acting weird, even weirder noise in the dash..related?
Hey guys:
I have an '02 SE with single manual climate control and about 131,000 on it.
I bought my car in the winter, and when it got warm I started using the AC. Well, I noticed it didn't work very well at all. Stopped at idle, it blows cold, then as I drive down the road at higher speeds, it blows warmer and warmer. Then, when i stop again, it starts blowing out nice cold air again.
Something that might be related is there is the strangest noise coming out of the dash behind the stereo/HVAC area...I can only hear it while sitting still.
Don't laugh, but it'* sort of a shh-konk sound..not loud but audible. It does it randomly and repeatedly. It sounds much like if you pulled on the cupholder and let it fall abck down, but of course thats not what it is.
I checked the AC charge, and it was fine. The compressor comes on right away and doesn't kick on and off..in fact, it seems like it runs ALL the time.
Thanks for any insight.

Do you know what reading you had for the A/C pressure? Also, trying raising the RPMs while parked and check to see if the compressor shuts off. The noise you hear may be what is listed in this TSB
A/C - Module Emits a `Tick-Tock' Noise
File In Section: 01 - HVAC
Bulletin No.: 01-01-38-007
Date: May, 2001
TECHNICAL
Subject:
Tick-Tock Noise From HVAC Module Assembly (Install Spring)
Models:
1997-1999 Buick Park Avenue, Ultra with RPO CJ2
2000-2001 Buick LeSabre with RPO C67
2000-2001 Pontiac Bonneville with RPO C61
Condition
Some customers may comment that the Heater and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Module Assembly emits a repeating "tick-tock" noise.
Cause
The "tick-tock" noise may be due to the two air mix (temperature) actuators on the Park Avenue HVAC module and the mode and air mix (temperature) actuators on the Bonneville and LeSabre HVAC module oscillating/cycling when they have reached a position on the HVAC module.
Correction
Install a deflector spring, P/N 25732764, in the covers of the two air mix (temperature) actuators on the Park Avenue HVAC module and in the covers of the mode and air mix (temperature) actuators on the Bonneville and LeSabre HVAC module.
