Default Question about the supercharger - SSEi...

Ok, so I have driven a few SSEis now and really didn't take notice until I had a friend along that said it didn't really feel like much of a difference with the supercharger kicked in, and he was right.

Am I expecting to much??

Should there be a definite noticable difference?

well think of it this way. its going to take alot of power to move a huge car like the bonneville. 240 hp is respectable (205 hp in the original 1992 ssei'* was also respectable) but its not going to be instant earth-shattering, light speed fast. there are also many different variables that decide how a car "feels". the steering, suspension, and tone of the engine can play tricks on the mind. in general, the bonneville was a sport luxury car and is tuned to have a sharp, but comfortable ride. my ex'* bonneville ssei was faster than my alero, yet my alero always "felt" faster because the alero has more road feeling since it has a simpler, less refined suspension.

I guess my assumption was that with a supercharger, when you put the pedal to the floor you would "feel" it...

the car is originally setup to have a smooth power band. There is no odd kick like a turbo.

I can def feel where your coming from> I didnt begin to truly appreciate my SC until i started modding the bonnie. Upgraded exhaust, CAI, you will definitely feel it.
