Default Question

Heyy
My friend has a 2000 bonnie sei and he asked me if there was a way to program another keyless entry/lock to work on his car also he said there is something in his manual that says he can program another key from his ignition without going to the dealer is this correct??

Thanks Mazee

He should have two controllers (key fobs), one is for driver 1, the other for driver 2. They can both be programmed & personalized through the Driver Information Center (DIC). Is this what he'* referring to?

I think Mark what he is asking is if he can get a new remote that did not come with the car & program it w/out going to the stealers. I may be incorrect.

You can synchronize an existing fob when the battery goes dead but you have to reprogram a new fob if it has never been sync'd before and this done with a tech 2 scanner at the dealer.

To resync the fob press and hold both the lock and un-lock at the same time for 7 sec.
you should be within 5 ft of the car.

to program a new remote you have to make sure the FCC ID numbers match the numbers on the original remote

To program a new key fob it has to be done with a Tech 2 on the 00+. You can resynchronize them by standing with in 5 feet of vehicle and hold lock and unlock at the same time for 7 sec. The door locks will cycle to confirm they sync'd.
