putting in a new trans

I found a beefed up trans that was put in a 2002 40th GP, not sure of the car it originally came out of but will it fit on my car?
He said the only incompatability he had was that he had to block off a line that filled the convertor so you just have to wait 15 seconds before you move the car
I am interested beacuse it only has 10,000 miles on it and he had no issues

Being that you have a 2000+ this is easer. You don't have a rear trans mount like the 92-99.
Sometime around 2000-2002 the Bonneville got the newer style transmission with the push in and click type lines instead of the threaded lines. At this same time they put a check ball in the fitting that is screwed into the trans. The threads for that one fitting are a different size than the old style to keep someone from making the mistake and hooking it into the non-checkball version of line.
There were also internal differences from 2000 and up that could make a difference. For a true understanding of if it will fit properly I'd suggest calling a professional like Triple Edge Performance. Dave Norris knows his stuff inside and out, he lists some fo the W body info etc on the site...I'm not sure if it covers the H body as well. I thought the differences were made in different years to the differing bodies.

looks good except it has burned up convertors, someone suggested the solenoid but I'm not an expert, but for $500 and just need a few new parts and its beefed up I just wanna make sure you guys think it would work

I told you how to know for sure. Why ignore the good advice and ask the question again? I'd still give you the same answer. Dave knows the transmissions inside, out and around the block. Most here wouldn't know the answer if it were on paper in front of us. Just trying to get you the correct answer via the quickest easiest method.






You can cover much more and the convo can mold into so much vs an email. wink wink.
