I would agree, and from the brief description in the TSB on which solenoid to use, the symptoms of what you're experiencing sound quite similar.

Just got back from the shop...

Me and the guy that worked on my car went for a ride so he could see what it was doing. I don't think its a true slip as it doesn't occur all the time. We were only able to see the rpm'* jump once [going between 30 & 40 w/ the TCC engaged], but that was it. I also notced in OD that there was a slight bucking [again, not all the time], and the tech pointed out that was due to a misfire in the engine due to bad plugs & coils [something they told me about, but not something I wanted to get fixed there].

So we agreed that I would go get the tune-up [as wel las the LIM gaskets] done, and would bring the car back if the problem persists. Hopefully, it doesn't...

Test your coils using the procedure in Techinfo. They're not a part that fails often, but are easy to test. Look for corrosion on the posts when you pull the wires. I've seen alot of S2 cars with rust on the posts. If you find it, use a wire brush to clean it off, then use dielectric grease during reassembly.

yeah, there'* rust on 2 of the coils. The guy showed me himself after we took the drive to explain to me why i was noticing the miss now as opposed to before the repair. He said the situation was worse since by pulling them the "best conact" was disrupted. They are rusted pretty badly...so cleaning with a wire brush is fine? or should they be replaced at this point?

I cleaned chadow427'* on his 2000 SSEi last year. Spent a good 5 minutes on each rusted post with a wire brush and some emory cloth. Liberal amounts of dielectric grease. As far as know, he'* had no problems since.

15 minutes and a little labor is cheaper than $120 for new coils. Try cleaning first. If the problem comes back, you'll notice it in OD under a slight load.
