So you have to lock your doors manually.. not even the remote does it?
All the windows or only the fronts?
is there a fuse box beside the glovebox or under the knee bolster?
you might have to invest in a muiltimeter

No worries Jeb. I doubt a 92 Trofeo has the fuses in the same place as your car anyway. Hang tight and one of the newer generations will come to the rescue here.

Have the remote transmitter (key fob) checked at the Dealer. I've seen some lately that seem to pre-maturely crap out. Has changing the battery in the Transmitter helped?

deathrat, I could see the transmitter and/or the recever crapping out and hence the door locks would not work.
but what about the pwr windows....

I wonder if the issues are related

first question is there power to the doors? (do you see lights on the door at night?)

I could imangine some f*cked up power spike nuke all 4 door modulels.. hence no doorlock or window fuction.

this is just my first blush thought.

Hey death rat: If (in theory) the door modules did get smoked in a car would there be an error code sent off to the PCM, or BCM?

cheers
chad

yes i have lights on the door panels that do work. i think the locks and windows problem is related whether it is a bad wire or a bad breaker or a hidden fuse. the door modules have seperate fuses for the front doors and one fuse for both rear doors, the fuses were all ok ,and the power mirror works on the drivers door . not sure but i think the door module is ok. heck i dont know?

Body control moduel will have things like door locks and entry lights and stuff like that... I presume sence its relitivly new that it has a diagnosics built into the DIC? check your service manual to see what it takes to activate.. usually (off and warm) then after it flashes some codes scroll down to BCM and clear them.. go for a drive and check them again.
But before you even try that cross check that with someone who has an 00-03 bonneville... I cant take another warning about posting here.

Is the power window motors a problem on all Pontiacs? I had a '93 Grand Am that the locks went out on. Then on both of our 2000 Bonnievilles we have had power window motors go bad. Todd had his rear passangermotor go bad and I have had both of my passanger window motors go bad.

Default Question for people who have had the regulator issue

OK.. I was driving on the highway this afternoon and I start to notice a draft, kind of familiar i had my drivers rear window break (well something with the regulator) and it happened again. I dont have the extended warrenty anymore so I am trying to figure out what all i need to do to change the regulator.

From what i can find as of now is that you can only buy the regulator and motor, thats no biggy. Two of the dealers in town quoted me $400 and $350 for the regulator. I was like WHAA. No.

I have found it on the www.gmpartsdirect.com. I need to know how hard it is to install those. I have the door mostly off. I see the two screws (i think) holding the glass in. It is my assumption that all i really need to do is take out the glass, unbold the motor and regulator (like 4 screws.. sorry im not infront of the car) and take out the entire assembly. Can someone with actual exprience in this let me know if i am on the right track. If so i will document the process and post it for all... probably a good thing to have because it seems to be an issues on these cars.
